Demon Slayer Chapter 38

Giyu leaves Inosuke tied to a tree after easily defeating the Spider Family’s Father. Inosuke is furious that Giyu refuses to fight him, but the Hashira simply tells him to stay out of the battle because of his injuries. Meanwhile, Tanjiro struggles against Rui’s razor-sharp threads, which are strong enough to slice through his Nichirin sword. Just before Tanjiro is struck again, Nezuko jumps in and takes the attack herself.

In Demon Slayer Chapter 38, Rui becomes obsessed with the bond between Tanjiro and Nezuko after seeing her protect her brother. He turns against his own so-called family and cuts down the Spider Demon who claimed to be his sister. Rui then offers Tanjiro a deal: hand Nezuko over and he will spare him. Tanjiro refuses and insists that Nezuko has her own feelings and free will. Rui finally reveals that he is Lower Rank Five of the Twelve Kizuki and prepares to kill both siblings.
